Bedford, MA- September 5, 2023– Vox Biomedical announced that it has received a supplemental award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to expand its Venturi breath analyzer technology to include a simulated driving performance study.
This new program will fill the gap in our understanding of cannabis’s effects by adding driving and performance measures to our existing program studying breath THC and metabolite concentration after recent cannabis smoking. Repeated assessments of driving performance and related metrics will be assessed in healthy volunteers using a standardized protocol that exposes individuals to different doses of THC in a systematic and well-controlled laboratory environment.
The new test battery could be operationalized into a mobile field test and complementary to Vox Biomedical’s Venturi breath technology.
Vox Biomedical will collaborate with Dr. Scott Lukas at McLean Hospital on this new program.
