Our mission is to develop innovative products based on the application of photonic-related technologies for biomedical, military, industrial and scientific applications. An example of current interest is to improve highway and workplace safety with our advanced technology.
Accurately sensing marijuana intoxication by measuring THC with a breath analyzer is crucial for safe motor vehicle operation and industrial safety and productivity.
We are developing a solution which is supported by the U.S. Department of Transportation and National Institutes of Health.
The Vox Breath Analyzer utilizes advanced laser technology for measurement of THC and CBD. This approach has significant advantages over competitive devices including increased sensitivity and the ability to distinguish THC from CBD and other cannabinoids to avoid false positives.
We can distinguish THC from CBD. Marijuana drug testing for law enforcement on the road and in the workplace is being developed by Vox Biomedical.
The problem on our highways:
Legalized medical and recreational marijuana usage is becoming increasingly common across the U.S.
Smoking marijuana affects critical driving-related skills such as reaction time, lane tracking, attention, and decision making.
Current devices available to measure marijuana intoxication rely on biological fluid extraction, often long after a driver is stopped and may require a warrant.
Our Solution:
The Vox marijuana Breath Analyzer. It can be used at the scene of a traffic stop, like existing alcohol breathalyzers. The subject breathes into a disposable cartridge, from which a filter is removed and analyzed on-site. The Vox marijuana Breath Analyzer uses high resolution spectroscopy to measure the quantity of THC in exhaled breath, and which will correlate with degree of intoxication.
The Vox approach is able to distinguish THC from CBD to avoid false positives.
Financial opportunity
There is no other mobile THC detection solution in the market. We plan to fill this void.
